Tourism Employers

Tourism has been one of Devon's top industries for many decades and now directly employs over 49,000 people.  Visitors to the county spend over £2 billion in the county.

The businesses in the tourism and hospitality sector include hotels, holiday parks, self-catering businesses, visitor attractions and activity companies.  With such different businesses in the tourism sector the range of career opportunities is enormous - anything from Art gallery assistant to Zookeeper. 

The Devon Tourism Ambassadors programme aims to build knowledge and understanding of those opportunities.  Our Ambassadors can visit your school or college to share their experiences to help enoucourage a better understanding of careers in this sector.
