Exmoor National Park

CareMoor for Exmoor

Conservation Archaeology Rights of way Enjoyment

Exmoor National Park straddles the counties of Devon and Somerset and includes stunning moorland, picturesque rural valleys and dramatic coastal cliffs. Much more than a protected natural landscape, the National Park is a living, dynamic and working environment. For thousands of years, people have lived and worked on Exmoor and they have left behind fascinating glimpses of past lives and cultures and the natural and cultural heritage that we value as special today.

‘CareMoor for Exmoor’ encourages visitors to contribute to the upkeep of this outstanding landscape and the fantastic visitor experience it offers.   Already thousands of pounds have been raised by Exmoor businesses, residents and visitors and every penny is well spent!  Funding of £500 has allowed Exmoor conservation volunteers to construct 50 dormouse nesting boxes for the Tarr Steps National Nature Reserve. £3000 funded much needed improvements to footpaths at West Water on Exmoor.

The modest charges made for excellent guided walks within the park go into the fund but there are many businesses that collect funds to support these valuable projects ranging from village shops, information centres, outdoor event organisers, tour operators and accommodation providers.

Exmoor is a special place and its unique qualities form the bedrock to many tourism businesses, events and organisations.  CareMoor allows those organisations, as well as individuals that enjoy the area, to invest in the wonderful assets within the park and to build a more sustainable future for visitors and local residents alike for generations to come.
